Senior Associate
Brett holds a unique position as a Senior Associate in the firm having also practiced as a Chartered Accountant , with partnerships in global accounting firms specialising in tax, based in both Sydney and Hong Kong, with further extensive working experience in London and New York.
His fields of expertise include both domestic and international tax; the tailoring of cross-border financial solutions for multi-nationals; listing of companies on the ASX; capital raising and business development; mergers and acquisitions.
As Company Secretary on a number of public companies, he has been responsible for issues of corporate governance and compliance; maintenance of company registers, documentation and management of rights issues.
Brett also brings with him extensive experience in strata title, dealing with matters of large defect claims, compliance with council regulations including fire, building, property development and growth by acquisition.
He has experience in litigation in all NSW Courts, including in the Court of Appeal.
His roles as Company Secretary, Managing Director and Chairman of various companies have provided him with a broad commercial exposure, enhancing his ability to assist in providing practical legal solutions to business.
