Koffels has been an active member of our global law network, Lawyers Associated Worldwide since 1994.
Made up primarily of boutique and mid-tier commercial firms such as our own, the focus is to provide personal, attentive and efficient service of a standard and rate that is more competitive than the multi-nationals, while providing sophisticated expertise commensurate with any top-tier firm.
We commenced our association in order to broaden the services that we can provide to our clients, ensuring that wherever they need to have legal representation we can deliver.
Whether our clients are transacting business within Australia or internationally we can assist. Even if the transactions are totally off-shore, we are pleased to support our clients in guiding them to professionals on the ground in the country where they are negotiating. Jurisdictional and legal requirements differ all over the world according to local law and customs. Often an approach needs the application of local knowledge and experience in the field to successfully complete an agreement or action. This is a service we are proud to offer our clients.
As an association, LAW annually holds both Regional and Sub-Regional meetings as well as their AGM. The location of these meetings are held in different jurisdictions around the world on a rotating basis to promote understanding of legal regulations throughout the network, and a camaraderie amongst members. Regular attendance is mandatory, so members always have a current knowledge, exchange of ideas and relationship with their global associates. The firms are independent, but linked by these personal associations and exchange of work. When we recommend a firm in another jurisdiction they are both known and trusted.
As a result Koffels has negotiated and completed transactions all over the world, and also act as the legal representative for many international companies that have offices or legal requirements here in Sydney. We provide on-going legal support and reporting services to their head offices, and a conduit between them and their branch offices. They are good and mutually rewarding on-going relationships.
Ross Koffel has, over the years, been an active member of the Executive and a representative for Asia-Pacific. He remains a committed participant.
