With a background specialising in Real Property as well as Accounting & Finance, Kerry Sidaway heads up our Real Property Practice. His experience over the years includes; practice in a large corporate based practice; in-house Counsel for a large commercial lender based out of the United States, (with an wholly owned insurance company and building society within the group), and later as principal of his own practice. He clearly brings the well rounded and considered maturity of a senior practitioner to the firm
His career spans extensive experience in property, structuring and financing, drafting management statements for Community Title developments, and drafting of lending documents for financiers, and leasing including for larger retail developments and retailers generally.
He also practices in the areas of insolvency, corporate structuring, corporate governance, director’s duties and contractual matters. His clients have included both multi-national and mid-tier accounting firms, national banking institutions, trustee companies, insolvency firms, and large property groups.
In addition, Kerry has successfully acted in conjunction with overseas entities for theatrical promoters, and provided advice to hospitality based clients, and cross-border negotiations.
He liaises with accounting advisors to restructure companies in preparation for initial public offerings, and capital raising.
He is experienced in the drafting of franchise agreements, and provides advice as to franchise issues for both clients and fellow legal practitioners.
Kerry is also a seasoned litigator, particularly in the areas of security enforcement and insolvency.
In his leisure time Kerry is a motor racing and boating enthusiast; and a follower of film and theatre.
